10 THE HUMAN BEING AND THE NEW PLANT, NEW COSMOS

 
 The Jupiter Cosmos, the next incarnation of the Earth, will be born from Love
Christ, through a free deed of love, has implanted the living seeds of a new cosmos, the New Jerusalem spoken of in the Bible, into our souls. According to Rudolf Steiner, the next incarnation of Earth is the Jupiter incarnation. It was the Christ, who through the Mystery of Golgotha, gave us the possibility of being co-creators of a new cosmos. This cosmos will arise from the free human being choosing the path of love when working with thinking, feeling, and willing. Our every thought, our every feeling, and our every willed act contribute to the forming of this new cosmos or hinder it.

Verse 41 from Rudolf Steiner’s Calendar of the Soul:
The soul’s creative might
Strives outward from the heart’s own core
To enkindle and inflame God-given powers
In human life, to right activity;
The soul thus shapes itself
In human loving and human working.
 
 

In the lecture series CW 219, Man and the World of Stars, December 31, 1922, Rudolf Steiner indicates that the whole, visible cosmos in all its sublimity and beauty—from the smallest plant at our feet to the most distant stars of the past---belongs to world evolution and how the only possibility of forming the foundation for a new cosmos lies in our individual ego, our ‘I’.
It is through us that this new creation will come into being.

In the painting shared above, THE HUMAN BEING AND THE NEW PLANT, the seed of love begins as a child of the Madonna. This Child, the Nathan Jesus, through its incarnation into the earth and later, at age 30, when the Christ Being enters the man Jesus, brings the heavenly world into the human being. The external stars and planets must be awakened as internal stars and planets. In the painting, the lower figure is shown with the impressions of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon beginning to register in the human being. The light and forces of the planets and the stars are flowing into us, beginning the new Cosmos of Love. We are called to recognize the spiritual in the ‘plant at our feet’ and know that we are asked to help with the continued evolution of that very plant, the earth, and all of her creatures.
