The RCARA is currently engaged in studying the wild flowers indigenous to central Texas that may be suitable for making plant color paints.  We have planted Rose Madder, Indian Blanket, Winecup and Coreopsis in the Central Texas area. It takes the Rose Madder 3 years before it produces roots that are large enough to harvest for plant color paint production.
We produced yellow pigment in the Spring of 2014 from wild harvested Coreopsis.
